Single vs Twin Pump Systems

Twin pump systems provide a second pump as backup if one fails, making them a practical choice for whole-house drainage where continued operation is especially important.

Single pump systems are well suited to smaller installations, such as an additional bathroom or an outbuilding with a toilet.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers from Pump Station Direct.

Is the 2000 litre sewage pumping station right for my property?

This model has a 2000 litre chamber. Suitability also depends on wastewater volume, the connected facilities and the discharge route. Capacity alone does not determine how many properties it can serve. Contact Pump Station Direct on 0203 8851 996 or message us on WhatsApp.

How far can this sewage station pump?

The standard pump is listed with a maximum 6 metre lift and a maximum 100 metre horizontal distance. The performance options offer 10 metre or 30 metre maximum lift. These figures are separate limits: actual performance depends on the complete pipe route, pipe diameter, bends and required flow. Ask us to check your installation before choosing an upgrade.

Can I choose a twin pump system?

Yes. This model offers a Dual Pump option for an additional £999. A second pump provides backup if one pump fails, subject to the control arrangement. It is a useful option for whole-house drainage, but does not provide backup power.

Are fittings and a high-level alarm included?

Check the product description and the selected options for the supplied package. Items shown under Add your extras and Add Fitting are optional additions and update the displayed total when selected. An alarm provides a warning of high liquid levels; it does not operate the pump or prevent an overflow by itself.

What should never be flushed into a sewage pumping station?

Keep wipes, nappies, sanitary products, cloths and other non-flushable items out of the system. Do not pour fats or oils into the drain. A solids-handling pump is not a waste disposal unit; use the toilet for human waste and suitable toilet paper only.

How often should a pumping station be serviced?

Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance guidance and agree a service interval with an experienced engineer based on usage and site conditions. Checks can include the pump, level controls, valves, pipework, electrical connections and alarm. Regular inspection helps identify wear or developing faults before they interrupt drainage.

How can I check delivery for my order?

Use the Delivery & Collection postcode checker on the product page to see the displayed delivery option and charge for your location. For order-specific questions or help choosing a product, contact Pump Station Direct on 0203 8851 996 or message us on whatsapp.
