Why we use it and our legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Answer product enquiries and fulfil orders, payments, delivery and returns | Taking steps at your request before a contract, or performing our contract |
| Keep required business and accounting records | Legal obligation |
| Secure the site, prevent abuse and resolve complaints or disputes | Our legitimate interests in protecting customers and operating the business, balanced against your rights |
| Optional analytics or marketing technologies where consent is required | Your consent, which you can withdraw |
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Information marked as required is needed to respond or fulfil the request; without it we may not be able to provide the service.
Who receives information
We share relevant information with service providers where necessary: website hosting and email providers; Stripe, Mollie, Klarna or Clearpay for the payment method used; UPS, Royal Mail, DPD or another logistics provider for delivery; and advisers or public authorities where legally required. Payment providers may act as independent controllers under their own privacy notices. We do not sell your personal information.
The postcode checker sends the postcode you enter to Postcodes.io to look up an area. Using a WhatsApp link takes you to WhatsApp, whose own privacy terms apply. We receive information you choose to send in that conversation.
International processing
Some hosting, payment or communications providers may process information outside the UK. Where we are responsible for a restricted transfer, we use a permitted transfer arrangement, such as an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
How long information is kept
We keep information only while needed for the purpose for which it was collected. The period depends on the order or enquiry, the five-year warranty, accounting obligations, unresolved complaints and applicable claim periods. Routine enquiries are reviewed and removed when no longer needed; relevant order correspondence may be retained with the order record. Anti-abuse identifiers used by our contact form expire automatically.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing already carried out. Some records must be retained to meet legal obligations. Contact us using the details above; we may need to verify your identity.
Complaints and updates
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We review this notice when our services or processing change and will explain material changes where appropriate.
